AS WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE ARE 7 WONDERS IN THE WORLD, BUT VERY FEW PEOPLE KNOW ALL OF THEM WITH NAMES AND HISTORY DETAILS.
In detail, the search for the wonders of the world begin by the swiss foundation in 2000. actually, the seven wonders of the world were already listed in second century BCE and giza pyramid is the only one which stands still from the first list. and the list seemed to be updated. and by permission and opinions of the people around the apparent world, supported to the changes of the previous wonders list. as more than 100 million people were agreed for this. and finally the updated and latest wonders list came to people view in 2007.
Coming to the seven wonders, the GREAT WALL OF CHINA is one of the seven wonders, and ofcourse it is the first one. the word GREAT is so small for this wall. it might be an understatement. it is one of the mightiest projects in the world till. the distance of the wall is about 5500 miles means 8850 kilo meters. the construction of this wall began in the seventh century. and is continued for 2 millennia. even though it is called as wall it is not look like wall, but its structure will be like two parallel walls for so lengthy stretches. in addition to this, watch towers and barracks are there. it is seemed like it is constructed for the purpose of giving security to the kingdom. may be the plan was failed and it might be the one of the not so great things of great wall of china. even though it was failed to give actual purpose but succeed for its effectiveness. some great scholars noted it as it serves more as "political propaganda".
coming to the second wonder of the world, its chichen itza. located in the city of mayan on the yucatan penunsula in mexico, which is flourished in the time of 9 th and 10 th century CE . this itza influences a temple. under the ruling of mayan tribe itza. he is strongly influenced by the toltecs. teltecs is the bunch of number of important monuments and temples were built. this is also called as the castle. which is among the most notable steps of pyramid el castillo. the height of this castle is about 24 meters, which is equal to 79 feet. above the main plaza. this structure contain all of 365 steps, which represents the number of days in a solar year. the effect of seasons influences with some effective changes. like in the spring season, and autumnal the sun set casts its shadows in the pyramid the will give the appearance of the serpent down slithering stairway of north. the base of this pyramid is with a stone in the shape of snake head. chichen is not a visiting place but also a home for the largest tlachtli, a type of sporting field. the life there is not only with work and science. in that tlachtli the people belongs to that place(residents) play a ritual ball game which is popular throughout pre columbian mesiamerica.
coming to the third wonder of the world, its petra. it is an ancient city. located at jordan in remote valley. clouded with sandstone mountains and sand cliffs. it is calculated as one of the place where moses struck a rock and gush water. after this ancient time, nabataens, one kind of tribals of arab made this petra as their capital. and the petra is flourished during this time by them. after becoming their capital, it become the important central trade for them. specially for spices. they have noted the carves and these nabataeans chiseled dwelling, temples, and tombs into sand stones. which changed the colour with shifting sun. they arranged a new water system for lush gardens and for farming. and after this, petra reportedly had a population of 30,000. after some several years, this area is effected by a major earth quake ( 363 CE ) and the quake shifted the life from here. began to decline, trade routes shifted. and after this another major earth quake hit in 551, petra was gradually downed. and finally it is rediscovered in 1912. even it is discovered large archaeologists ignored it and it was a great shame. until the late 20th century, it was ignored. and after the 20th century it is recorded as one of the seven wonders of the world. and it is still mysterious about the city.
in detail of the fourth wonder, its machu picchu. this is a incan site. it located near cuzco, peru, and it was discovered by HIRAM BINGHAM, in 1911. hiram bingham believes that it was a vilacabamba. which means of a secret incan strong hold which can be used during 16th century and by rebellion against spanish rule. and this hypocratic later proved to be wrong. and it came to know that it is used by scholars. bhingham believed that it was the home for the virgins of the sun. which means the women who lived in convents, under a vow of chastity. many others thought of it as a pilgrimage site. while some other thought of it as a royal retreat. one thing of it, it apparently should not be in the site of a beer commercial. in 2000, a crane being used for an such ad fell and cracked monument. what is known today as manchu picchu. which is one of the few major pre columbian ruined. it looks like isolated at mountains of andes. it is featured as agricultural terraces, plazas, residential areas, and temples.
