TESTS OF DIVISIBILITY:
DIVISIBILITY OF 2:
a number which is divisible by 2 and if its units digit is any of 0,2,4,6,8.
EX. 59694 here we have a number with 5 digits. but to check divisibility of 2 there is no need of how many digits the number have. only the last digit of the number is considered. last digit, unit place of the number, 4 so this number is divisible by 2
DIVISIBILITY OF 3:
a number is divisible by 3 while the number of digits of the number to be added and the final answer should be 3,6,9. sum of the digits is divisible by 3 then the number is divisible by 3.
EX. 696321 he
re we have a number with 6 digits. so now, as per the rule all the digits should be added.
6+9+6+3+2+1=3, so 3 is divisible by 3 so the number is divisible by 3.
DIVISIBILITY OF 9:
. when the sum of the digits of the number is divisible by 9, then the number is divisible by 9.
EX. 246591, here we have 6 digit number. so as per the rule we have to add them.
2+4+6+5+9+1=27. here 27 is divisible by 9 so the number is divisible by 9.
246593. now add all the digits in the number.
2+4+6+5+9+3=30. here the answer 30 we get . but 30 is not divisible by 9. so the number is not divisible by 9.
DIVISIBILITY OF 4:
a number is divisible by 4 when only the last two digits of the number is divisible by 4.
EX. 654324, here the last two digits are 24. 24 is divisible by 4. so the number is divisible is 4.
645378. here the last two digits are 78. 78 is not divisible by 4 . so the number is divisible by 4.
DIVISIBILITY OF 8:
a number is divisible by 8 when only the last 3 digits of the number is divisible by 8.
EX. 1841352, here 3 5 2 are the last three digits. the number 352 is divisible by 8 and the number 1841352 is also divisible by 8.
157353, the last three digit 353 is not divisible by 8, so 157353 is also divisible by 8.
DIVISIBILITY OF 10:
the number is divisible by 10 when only the number is having 0 at its last digit.
EX. 74364320 here this number is having 0 at its last digit. so the number is divisible by10.
682147, in this number the last digit is 7 so the number is not divisible by 10.
DIVISIBILITY OF 5
the given number is divisible by 5 when the last digit of the number is having 0 or 5.
EX. 67890 as per the rule, the last digit of the number is having 0. so this number is divisible by 5.
98765 this number also divisible by 5 because of having 5 in its last digit.
DIVISIBILITY OF 6:
if a number is divisible by both 2 and 6 then it is automatically divisible by 6. 2*3=6
